TeleSign Acquisition By BICS Closes, Deal Value Rises To $335M

Marina del Rey-based phone verification and user authentication service TeleSign is now officially part of BICS, after the official close of the acquisition, BICS said today. The deal was originally announced in April. BICS said it paid $230M, however, March Capital Partners, one of the investors in TeleSign, said that as a result of additional cash and earn out the deal now has a total valuation of $335M. TeleSign's cloud-based communications services are used by many, major online service providers and e-commerce sites for authentication users, using phone and other methods. TeleSign will continue to be run by CEO Aled Miles. According to BICS, TeleSign will continue to operate independently as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. TeleSign was venture backed by Adams Street Partners, March Capital Partners, Summit Partners, and Telstra Corp.
