Zag Makes Exec Hires, Promotions

Santa Monica-based Zag, a venture-backed developer of online car buying software, said this morning that it has made a number of hires and a promotion. Zag said it has promoted Bernie Brenner to Executive Vice President in charge of the firm's consumer initiatives, named David Pributsky as VP of Partner development. The firm also named Steward Easterby as VP of Sales; Bill Lepter as VP of Business Intelligence; and Star Marcus as VP of Human Resources. Brenner has served at 1-800-CARSEARCH, PromiseMark, and CARFAX; Pributsky joined Zag in 2006 and served at eVox Productions and Malldecker Media; Easterby was most recently at Yahoo!; Lepler has served at Brandspeak in addition to providing marketing and other expertise to a large number of other firms; and Marcus joins from Faith Communications. Zag develops software used for configuring and pricing new and used automobiles, which it provides on a white-label basis to affinity buying programs. The firm is backed by Anthem Venture Partners, Capital One Auto Finance, GRP Partners, Arcturus Capital, Callaway Cars and the Skoll Fund.
