SoCal Gets $739M In Venture Capital In Q2

Southern California companies raised $739M in venture capital in Q2 of 2011, according to the latest numbers from PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) based on data from Thomson Reuters. Nationally, venture capitalists invested $7.5M raised for the quarter.

Southern California Venture capital totals were up slightly in Q1 of this year from last quarter, to around $718M in deals, according to an analysis of socalTECH.com's proprietary venture database. However, venture funding totals were still well off the first quarter of 2008's nearly $1.2 billion in funding.
