MySpace Ties Into Windows Mobile, Silverlight

Los Angeles-based social networking site MySpace announced Monday that it is supporting a pair of Microsoft technologies: Microsoft Windows Mobile and Microsoft Silverlight. Windows Mobile is Microsoft's embedded operating system for cell phones and other devices; Silverlight is Microsoft's rich media Internet and streaming application. Financial details behind the deal were not disclosed. MySpace said its upcoming mobile application will run on Windows and use Silverlight; the firm said its new application will allow users to access the site's main social features and functionality. In conjunction with the deal with Microsoft, MySpace said the new mobile app will be preloaded on LG mobile phones based on the Windows operating system.
