EdgeCast said the round was led by Menlo Ventures, and also includes an investment from Steamboat Ventures, a prior investor in the company. EdgeCast said it reached profitability in Q4 of 2009, and according to Anthony Citrano, VP of Communications at the firm, the new round is a true growth round.
