.CO The Domain for Getting Business Done

In the beginning there were few variations of domain types available for purchase. You had a slim selection of .com’s, .net’s, or .org’s. As the Internet gained popularity with businesses and the general population, domains extensions began to grow. We began to see a slew of vanity urls make their way into our Internet lives with country domains, .biz, and the controversial pornography specific domain, .XXX. With so many options for website and business owners to chose from, where does one even start with all the domain overload? You begin thinking, does one go trendy with a .IO or maybe a .LY? Heck why not represent your city with a .la domain? Then came along Dot CO to help us settle down and pick the right domain for our business.

During this years 2012 SXSW the team behind the .CO domain were out in force educating entrepreneurs and the like, why their next company domain should be on a .CO ( .CO standing for company). While in Austin, .CO took great advantage of the thousands of people wondering the streets with a bright campaign. Multiple people walked around proudly wearing t-shirts stating that the .CO domain was good enough for the Brooklyn hipster.

Following SXSW I sat down with the CEO of the .CO domain, Juan Diego Calle , to talk about their mission, how they’re working with entrepreneurs, and what’s to come from .CO.

Check it out and let us know your thoughts. Will you get your company a .CO domain? If not which domain name will you go with?
