Irvine-based data analytics software developer Alteryx is at the center of a massive, consumer data leak which was revealed this week, which has revealed a stunning depth of information on 120 million American households. Apparently, Alteryx had loaded Experian's big ConsumerView data onto an exposed, Amazon Web Services (AWS) server, allowing anyone with the right URL to access information on the address, ethnicity, interests, hobbies, life events, property, income, mortgage, and other data on most Americans. The breach is a stunning reversal of fortune for Alteryx, which had been riding high this year due to its IPO.
