Illumina Wins Patent Infringement Suit

San Diego-based life sciences equipment maker Illumina has won a patent infringement lawsuit it filed against Ariosa Diagnostics, according to the company, in a win in the United Kingdom. According to Illumina, it received a judgement in its favor in the patent infringement suit, from the High Court of Justice, Chancery Division, Patents Court in the United Kingdom. Illumina said it now intends to seek all available remedies for the infringement, including damages, injunctive relief, and attorney fees. Illumina said the court found that Ariosa's Harmony non-invasive prenatal test infringed on a aptent held by the company, and that the patent claims were valid.
