AeroVironment Wins $45M Contract From U.S. Army

Simi Valley-based AeroVironment, which develops unmanned aerial vehicles for the defense market, has scored a $45M contract award from the U.S. Army, the company said on Monday morning. AeroVironment said the contract came from the United States Army for its Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFAB), and will go towards supporting the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Special Operations Command, National Guard and others. The contract goes towards AeroVironment's RQ-11B Raven small, unmanned aircraft systems. AeroVironment said the deal was worth $45,190,811 and delivery is anticipated by January 2020.
