Dimer GermFalcon Gets TIME Award

Los Angeles-based startup Dimer, the developer of an ultraviolet light decontamination system being used for decontaminating airplanes, has been recognized by TIME as a "Best Invention"--after being thrust into relevance by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company--which, until earlier this year had been quietly working on its UV light disinfection products--has since partnered with industrial giant Honeywell, which is selling Dimer's GermFalcon as the Honeywell UV Treatment System, which is being used to decontaminate airplane cabins. The company's systems are now being used by such airlines as JetBlue, Qatar Airways, Azul Airways, and Bulgaria Air. The company started working on UV disinfection technology 10 years ago, but only started shipping systems this year, as a result of the rush to find products to help combat the pandemic.
