Israeli Venture Fund Raises $20M, Looks To Link With LA Startups

A new, $20M venture capital fund, TAU Ventures, based out of Tel Aviv, Israel, and Tel Aviv University (TAU), says it is specifically looking to link with the Los Angeles technology community--thanks to its link with Los Angeles investor Behzad Kianmahd--co-founder of Cross Campus. According to TAU Ventures, its early stage venture capital fund is looking to invest pre-seed funding into startups founded by students and alumni of Tel Aviv University. The fund said its co-founder and lead investor is Behzad Kianmahd, the CEO of Maxim Commercial Capital, and co-founder of the Cross Campus coworking space, which has been one of the key hubs of startup activity in the Los Angeles area. Other investors in the fund include Singapore investment fund Charter High Tech, as well as other individual investors across the US and Canada.
