MaxLinear Gets Early Approval On Acquisition Of Intel Division

Carlsbad-bsed MaxLinear, which develops radio frequency, analog, and mixed signal integrated circuits, says it has received an early termination on the waiting period for its acquisition of Intel's Home Gateway Platform Division. The company said the early termination came from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on April 21st. MaxLinear announced the acquisition of Intel's division on April 6th. Intel's Home Gateway Platform Division develops systems-on-a-chip (SoC) products used in Wi-Fi access points, Ethernet, and home gateways.
