Wrapal Acquired By Set Scouter

Los Angeles-based Wrapal, a peer-to-peer marketplace which connected film makers with set locations, has been acquired by Toronto, Canada-based Set Scouter, according to the two companies. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Set Scouter also operates an online, peer-to-peer location scouting marketplace. According to companies, the acquisition will help create the largest, film locations database in North America. Wrapal had primarily focused on set location in Los Angeles, with Set Scouter offering up similar locations in Canada, as well as New York, Chicago, and Miami. Wrapal is led by foudner and CEO Brian L. Tan. Tan and his co-founders started the company after they went through their own struggles finding a filming location.
