Sizmek's Ad Server, Optimization Products Acquired By Amazon

The ad serving and "creative optimization" businesses of Sizmek, the now-bankrupt developer of advertising technology which had a significant portion of its team in Los Angeles, has been acquired by Amazon, Amazon said on Friday. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Amazon said it has agreed to acquire both the Sizmek Ad Server and Sizmek Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) products. Sizmek had been looking for a buyer for the two products. Sizmek filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in March of this year. Among the biggest creditors that Sizmek owes money to is Pasadena-based OpenX, which is owed $5.9M.
