Solarflare Communications Hires VP

Irvine-based Solarflare Communications, which develops 10 Gigabit Ethernet silicon, said today that it has hired on Mike Smith as the firm's Vice President of Product Marketing. Smith joins the firm from Emulex, where he was the company's Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Smith has also served at Adaptec and Western Digital. According to Solarflare, Smith will be responsible for product management and product marketing at the firm. Solarflare is venture backed by Oak Investment Partners, Acacia Capital, Anthem Venture Partners, and others.
