Mobile Roadie Abandons Blackberry

Apparently, Blackberry users aren't that into Facebook and Twitter--at least, according to Beverly Hills-based Mobile Roadie, the developer of branded mobile applications for music artists, celebrities, and others. Mobile Roadie said today that it is discontinuing its Blackberry offering, after finding that less than 2 percent of Blackberry users using its apps bothered to log into Facebook or Twitter and interact with the app. That compares with over 50 percent of its iPhone and Android users. The firm said engagement with its app was about 1/20th of iPhone/Android. The firm also complained that it had a "unique set" of challenges on Blackberry, including smaller screens, a underpowered processor, and complexity with Blackberry's BES corporate enterprise service. The firm had just launched its Blackberry app in December.
