Skyworks Sees Better Than Expected Quarterly Results

Irvine-based Skyworks Solutions, which develops analog semiconductors for the wireless and other markets, said late Thursday that it has seen better than expected, Q1 FY17 results. The publicly traded semiconductor maker said it saw revenues for the first quarter of $914.3M, versus an earlier expected estimate of $902.7M. Revenues were up 9.4 percent quarter to quarter. The company attributed the better than expected results to demand in the mobile connectivity and Internet-of-Things (IoT) areas. Skyworks sells its chips to such customers as Huawei, Linksys, Ubiquiti Networks, Comcast, Oppo, Vivo, Meizu and Xiaomi, Netgear, Samsung, and many others.
