DTS Powers New ASUS ROG II Phone

Calabasas-based DTS is powering the new immersive audio experience for the ASus Republic of Gamers (ROG) gaming phone, according to DTS. DTS--which is now part of Xperi Corporation--said that its DTS:X Ultra audio technology is being incorporated into the new ROG Phone II, the newest product from ASUS Republic of Gamers. Financial impact of the win was not announced. The DTS:X Ultra technology is used to shape audio coming from the phone to provide a 3D audio experience; the firm specifically said its technology is being used by gamers to help the bette hear and locate opponents and identify other "key environmental sounds" in games.
