Elon Musk To Deliver Caltech Commencement

California Institute of Technology in Pasadena said over the weekend that Elon Musk, the technology mogul who founded SpaceX and Tesla Motors, and co-founded PayPal, will deliver this year's commencement address in June. Caltech said Musk will deliver the commencement address for the school on June 15th at its campus in Pasadena. The school said that Musk will talk about how "brilliant, big ideas can and will have a positive impact in the world." The selection of Musk is particularly well suited to Caltech, which runs the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory got its start developing some of the first American rockets for the U.S. government. JPL and Caltech recently celebrated the 75th anniversary of the first rocket experiments which became the site of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. SpaceX has developed the first, commercially developed rockets to deliver a payload to space, and is getting set for its first mission to the International Space Station in February. Last year, Caltech's commencement speaker was Dr. Ahmed Zewail, Nobel Laureate, the Linus Pauling Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Physics at Caltech.
