FastSoft Launches Testing Network

Pasadena-based FastSoft, the Caltech spinout which develops web acceleration software, said today that it has launched a testing network for its clients. According to FastSoft, the network includes 30 nodes "around the globe" which can be used to test performance enhancements from using the firm's Dynamic Site Acceleration (DSA) product and software. FastSoft sells an appliance and software which optimizes the TCP/IP protocol, drastically improving the speed of Internet transfers. The firm claims its product speeds page downloads by 30 to 500 percent, without requiring client side software or browser plug-ins. The firm's technology is based on out technology developed at Caltech for the Internet2 and for improving web transfer speeds. FastSoft has been targeting companies in the e-commerce, social networking, digital content, and software-as-a-service markets with its products.
