Virgin Galactic Names CFO

Pasadena-based Virgin Galactic, the commercial spaceflight firm owned by Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group and its partners, said today that it has named Kenneth H. Sunshine as its CFO. Sunshine was previously CFO at MDA Information Systems, and also has served at the National Institute of Aerospace, Aurora Flight Sciences, Orbital Science Corporation, and Draper Laboratories. The firm said that Sunshine is the firm's first Chief Financial Officer. Virgin Galactic's current headquarters are in Pasadena, near Caltech, but the firm is in the midst of building a headquarters at Spaceport America in New Mexico. Virgin Galactic is backed by Virgin Group and Aabar Investments PJS, and is developing its spacecraft based on the designs of Mojave based Scaled Composites.
