Online advertising network Adconion is tapping a Los Angeles technology vet as its Global Chief Technology Officer, the company said Monday. Adconion said that it has appointed Scott Sullivan to the CTO position, recruiting him away from Everbridge Communications, where he was also CTO. Sullivan is also a board member at Graphight.

Los Angeles-based Everbridge , which develops incident notification and mass calling systems, said Thursday that it has named Scott Sullivan as the firm's Chief Technology Officer. Steve Curry: I had been at Yahoo managing their storage operations. After I left Yahoo, I spent a couple of years with Forsythe Solutions Group, as a liaison with account executives. We spent lots of time with enterprises where technology was not their core product. That allow enterprise CIOs to jump into OpenStack head first.

I think what's different here, is there are technology to make all of this not only more secure, but provide a better user experience, and not bother the user. Even with prominent breaches at Yahoo, LinkedIn, and others, how many consumers actually take the time to enable that second factor? We are lazy. That's why things are changing.
