Upfront Ventures Names Nortman As Co-Managing Partner

Los Angeles-based Upfront Ventures reported Monday morning that it has named Kara Nortman as co-Managing Partner of the fund. The fund said that Nortman will work alongside current Managing Partner Mark Suster. Nortman has been at Upfront since 2014, serving as Partner at the firm. Upfront's biggest exits have been Ring (acquired by Amazon), TestFlight and FleetSmith (both acquired by Apple), Maker Studios (acquired by Disney). Upfront said Nortman has been a VC for more than 11 years. Nortman joined Upfront from children's e-commerce company Moonfrye, which she founded in 2014. Moonfrye, Kara spent close to seven years at IAC where she was the SVP and General Manager of Urbanspoon and Citysearch; she also served at Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, and Battery Ventures.
