Eucalyptus Revs Software, Targets Enterprise Deployment

Santa Barbara-based cloud computing software maker Eucalyptus Systems, which is run by Marten Mickos, said Tuesday that it has launched a new version of its products, which includes a number of enterprise deployment features. The firm said the new product includes a feature to provide users with a self-service way to get up an running with the Eucalyptus IaaS cloud in under 20 minutes. Eucalyptus also said that it has also released the complete source code for its product, Eucalpytus 3.1, on Github, an online repository for open source code. The Eucalpytus software is used to manage enterprise-class private cloud and hybrid clouds. Eucalyptus is venture backed by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), Benchmark Capital, BV Capital, and New Enterprise Associates.
