Overwatch League, Fanatics Link Up On Licensing, E-Commerce

Overwatch League, the e-sports league created by Irvine's Blizzard Entertainment, has just inked a sports merchandising deal with Fanatics, which will include retail, licensing, and e-commerce efforts. According to the two, Fanatics will become the official retail partner of the Overwatch League, in what is the first e-sports deal ever for Fanatics. Financial details of the deal were not announced. The two said the deal will give Fanatics the U.S. and international rights to produce Overwatch League jerseys, fan gear, headwear, and hard goods sold across all retail and wholesale channels. The companies also said that Fanatics will put up online storefronts for such teams as the Atlanta Reign, Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark, Paris Eternal, Toronto Defiant, Vancouver Titans, and the Washington Justice.
