Rubicon Project Launches Summer Olympics Push

Los Angeles-based Rubicon Project says it has launched a new, Olympics advertising marketplace, ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. According to Rubicon Project, it has pulled together Olympics-specific inventory, from such publishers as Conde Nast and USA TODAY NETWORK, to provide a reach to over 100 million monthly uniques focused on sports fans. Rubicon Project said the deal is the first time that Conde Nast has enabled advertisers to target specific audiences across their network for something like the Olympics. Rubicon Project said that the effort, in particular, is aimed at helping advertisers reach millennials. The company said it ran a recent survey, where it found that 8 out of 10 millennials plan to have a second screen open "most of the time" while they are watching the Olympics.
