The Walt Disney Company Contributes $1M To Hurricane Michael Relief Efforts

The Walt Disney Company, which is based in Burbank, said late Thursday evening that it has donated $1M in aid to relief efforts in Florida and nearby areas, after a devastating hit by Hurricane Michael this week. According to Disney, the donation will go to support disaster response and recovery efforts through the Florida Disaster Fund managed by the Volunteer Florida Foundation. Disney also said it will be matching contributions from Disney employees dollar-for-dollar through its employee matching gifts program. Although disaster assessments are still ongoing, Hurricane Michael has caused widespread destruction in Florida's panhandle and massive flooding rains up the East Coast.
