UberMedia Updates Twidroyd

Pasadena-based UberMedia, the Twitter client firm run by Bill Gross, said Wednesday that it has updated its Twidroyd client, which allows users to post and read tweets on the Twitter micro-messaging service. According to UberMedia, it has added new inline previews of YFrog and instagram photos; ability to browse tweets without having a Twitter account or signing in; use of the Goog.le link shortener; plus ability to temporarily mute users or keywords. The firm also said that it has inked a partnership with Skyhook Wireless to provide much more precise geolocation information than exists natively in Android. UberMedia is an Idealab company, and now owns Twitter clients on iPhone, Blackberry, and Android platforms, including UberTwitter, Echofon, Twidroyd, Mixx, and, reportedly, TweetDeck, although that deal has not been confirmed yet.
