Tesla Unveils Upgraded Model S In Los Angeles

Tesla Motors, the electric car company led by Elon Musk, rolled out its latest automobile in Los Angeles last week, showing off a new version of the Model S that includes dual motors, and new "autopilot" functionality which can help drivers change lanes, keep within the speed limit, and avoid collisions. The new Model S uses a forward radar and 12 ultrasonic sensors to allow the car to automatically change lanes for a user, and steer away from danger. However, Tesla said the goal of the new hardware and software is not to enable driverless cars, but instead to increase driver comfort and safety. The car was rolled out at the Hawthorne Airport, just a few blocks away from rocket company SpaceX, which is also led by Musk.
