SmartDrive Launches New Hardware Platform, Eyes Autonomous Driving Market

San Diego-based driver safety systems developer SmartDrive Systems said today that it has launched a brand new hardware platform for its video-based driver safety systems. According to SmartDrive, its new SR4 hardware provide additional compute power for computer vision, advanced driver assistance, and autonomous driving applications. According to SmartDrive, its new hardware provides multi-camera support, and also integrates with the WABCO OnLane Lane Departure Warning System. SmartDrive provides its systems to the commercial and transit fleet market. The company is led by CEO Steve Mitgang.
