San Diego Angel Conference Backs Five Companies

The San Diego Angel Conference, an angel investing effort which is run by the University of San Diego (USD) School of Business, says it has made investments in five companies at its conference this year, worth a total of $500,000. According to the conference, it awarded $200,000 to Advocat Technologies, a developer of artificial intelligence (AI) software for research and drafting at enterprise legal departments, and another $300,000 split between ChargeNet Stations, Digital Proteomics, Fluid Power AI, and Verity. The group said that Digital Proteomics is working on machine learning for better therapeutic antibody discovery; Fluid Power AI is developing an internet of things (IoT) reliability and maintenance solution for any hydraulic system; Verity is working on sustainable packaging solutions to the beauty and personal care industry that minimize single-use plastics and waste; and ChargeNet Stations is working on electric vehicle (EV) charging.
