X1 Finds $5.1M More For Ediscovery Efforts

Pasadena-based e-discovery software developer X1 has raised $5.1M more in a Series B funding round, the company said Wednesday, in a round led by Palisades Growth Capital. The round also included angel investor George Kadifa, the former head of HP Software. According to X1, the new funding will go to hire aggressively in development and sales. X1 is led by CEO Craig Carpenter and CTO Brent Botta. X1 says it now has more than 600,000 users in 20,000 different organizations using its products. The company has a very long and complex history, its technology originally been spun out of Idealab back in around 2004 as a vendor of desktop search software. The company recently has focused on cybersecurity, forensics and eDiscovery markets. More information »
