j2 Global Buys Four More Companies

Los Angeles-based j2 Global, the provider of Internet services and digital media publisher, has acquired four more cloud companies, the company said on Monday. j2 Global said it has acquired MyPhoneFax, which operates Fax87 and Onlinefaxes.com; CloudRecover, an Australian cloud backup provider; WeCloud, a cloud email company in Sweden; and Simitu, a cloud email provider in Denmark. According to j2 Global it will use the acquisition to grow its customer base, access new markets, and expand its product lineup. j2 Global also said it has sold Cambridge BioMarketing LLC, which was a subsidiary of Everyday Health, Inc. Financial details of the various deals were not announced by j2 Global, which said the financial impact of those deals is not expected to be material. j2 Global--which owns both cloud services in the form of Internet fax, unified communications, email, and other services, and is the online publisher of such sites as PCMag, IGN, AskMen, and Everyday Health--is a ravenous acquirer of cloud technology firms.
