MaxLinear Gets DVR Design Win

Carlsbad-based radio frequency (RF), analog, and mixed signal integrated circuits maker MaxLinear as scored a design win with a manufacturer of a digital video recorder (DVR). According to MaxLinear, Nuvyyo has seleced one of its chips for a new DVR product, which streams live HDTV and records over-the-air (OTA) content. Estimated shipment volumes for the device were not announced. MaxLinear said that Nuvyyo is using its MxL69x ATSC receiver (tuner and demodulator) for the product. Nuvyyo is based in Ottawa, Canada.
