Broadcom Targets Bluetooth Headset Designs

Irvine-based Broadcom, a developer of a wide range of semiconductors for the electronics market, announced a new reference design today for Bluetooth headsets and car kits. According to the firm, its new Bluetooth reference design platform uses its BCM20741 systems-on-a-chip to help designers create hands-free car devices, including car kits and headsets. The firm said the design includes features such as echo cancellation, power management features, and technology to remove background noise.
