Report: Jam City's Harry Potter Game Reaches $110M In Spending

A new report, from market analysis firm Sensor Tower, says that Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, the Harry Potter-themed mobile game developed by Los Angeles-based JamCity, has now collected $110M in player spending, in less than a year. The report says that the title is now Jam City's most lucrative title, representing 30 percent of its revenues across the App Store and Google Play.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery puts the player in the role of a student at the Hogwarts School of Magic and Witchcraft, learning spells, participating in quests, and more, and is based by the extremely popular books and movies from J.K. Rowling. Sensor Tower said that the $110M in player spending is international, with around 48 percent from the U.S. and the rest in countries like Germany, the UK, and elsewhere. Jam City launched the title in April of 2018.

Jam City, which also publishes popular title like Cookie Jam, recently raised $145M in a debt funding round to help it with expansion efforts, which came from JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and also included Silicon Valley Bank, SunTrust Bank and CIT Bank, N.A. The company is led by former MySpace founder Chris DeWolfe.
