Beacon Discovery Expands in San Diego

San Diego-based Beacon Discovery, a company focused on orphan GPCR drug discovery, says it is expanding its San Diego facility, as part of a partnership with Escient Pharmaceuticals. According to Beacon Discovery, the expansion in San Diego is being driven by Escient's recently $40M Series A funding, which will go towards development of therapeutics targeting Mas-Related G-Protein Receptors (Mrgpr). Beacon Discoverys aid it will support in vitro and in vivo preclinical discovery efforts for Escient's programs at its expanded San Diego facilities. Beacon Discovery is led by President and CEO Sunny Al-Shamma.
