Heal Acquires Doctors on Call

Los Angeles-based Heal, which provides on-demand, in-home doctor's house calls, has acquired Doctors on Call (DOC), a New York-based medical house call service for the elderly. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. According to Heal, the acquisition will help it expand its services to New York City. Heal said that Doctors on Call averaged 42,000 house calls to seniors in NYC in 2018. As part of the acquisition, Heal said it plans to use the service to extend its services, where it provides primary care for people of all ages. Heal is led by co-founder and CEO Nick Desai. Heal said the acquisition will make its entry into its largest single city; it now offers services in Atlanta, Georgia; California; New York; Northern Virginia; and Washington, D.C. The company says its services are now available to more than 75 million Americans.
