BiasSync Launches Tool for Unconscious Bias Assessment

A new, Los Angeles-based startup, BiasSync, has launched a tool aimed at helping corporations and government agencies measure unconscious bias in the workplace, in an attempt to help foster a "more fair and respectful workplace". According to BiasSync, the company was co-founded by former broadcast journalist and entrepreneur Michele Ruiz, former Tinder VP of Technology Dan Gould, and serial tech entrepreneur Robin Richards. BiasSync said its new tool provides organizations with aggregated, actionable data and professional development content to help lessen the negative impact of unconscious bias in the workplace. Gould previously co-founded social app developer Tappy, which was acquired by Tinder; Tappy was originally known as Chill. Richards also is involved with CareerArc, another local startup, and previously was founder of such companies as Internships.com, NTI Group, MP3.com, and other companies, in addition to being an investor in many local startups, including Docstoc.
