Encantos Takes $5.7M More For EdTech Efforts

Culver City-based Encantos, an edtech startup which helps kids with literacy, learning skills, and life skills, has raised $5.7M in a new funding round, the company announced this morning. The funding was led by Precursor Ventures, and also included Angeles Ventures, Concrete Rose Capital, Metrodora Ventures, Next Play Ventures, Portfolia's Rising America Fund, and Revolution's Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, along with angels Patty Arvielo (New American Funding), Spencer Rascoff (former Zillow CEO), Human Ventures, Kapor Capital, and MathCapital. the company also rpeviously raised funding from the NBA's Baron Davis, Angel Morales (Morales Capital), and Sol Trujillo (now Chairman of the company's board). The company says it has now raised $8.5M in total. Encantos said the new funds will go to accelerate its subscription services. Charles Hudson of Precursor Ventures joins the company's board as part of the funding. Encantos was foudned in 2016 by Steven Wolfe Pereira (CEO) and Susai Jaramillo (President and Chief Creative Officer). Encantos last raised funding back in January.
