Zingle Raises $3M

Carlsbad-based Zingle , a startup developing messaging tools that allows businesses to connect to consumers via messaging and texting, has raised $3M in a Series A funding round. The funding came from Rincon Ventures and Crosscut Ventures. Zingle's products--which are currently being used in the hospitality, parking, food and beverage, and other areas--provide a dashboard and other ways to let businesses interact with their customers via texting.

Game Company Makes Move for More Mobile

In a move to further consolidate the mobile gaming industry and to obtain lucrative licensing deals for several Hollywood franchises, last week mobile-game maker SGN of Culver City acquired game developer TinyCo of San Francisco for an undisclosed amount.

SpaceX Opening Office In Orange County

Hawthorne-based SpaceX is opening up a new office in Orange County, in what looks to be an attempt to tap into the area's deep depth of technical talent. According to the OC Register, SpaceX has leased just under 8,000 feet of office space in Irvine, and now is listing jobs for engineering positions in the location, including engineers in the areas of RF integrated circuits and ASIC design.

Surf Air Expands To Europe

Los Angeles-based all-you-can-fly airline Surf Air is in a major expansion of its membership-based air services today, saying that it has launched a European venture, Surf Air Europe , which will bring the same style of all-you-can-fly fights between London Luton Airport, Cannes, Geneva and Zurich. The new service will cost �2500 a month. Surf Air said it will also have weekend flights to Ibiza, and plans to expand to Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona next year.
