Semtech Gets LoRa Win With Food Safety Product

Camarillo-based analog and mixed signal semiconductor developer has scored another design win with its LoRa wireless connectivity technology. According to Semtech, Laird Connectivity, a developer of wireless products, is using its technology in a smart temperature monitoring solution. Semtech said that Laird's products are being deployed for restaurants such as Shake Shack, Five Guys, and Hard Rock Cafe. Shipment volumes from Laird were not announced. Laird Connectivity is using both LoRa devices and its LoRaWAN protocol in its ComplianceMat product, which was created by CM Systems. The LoRa system replaced an preior generation of devices using wireless Bluetooth sensors.
