Qualcomm In Chinese Joint Venture

San Diego-based Qualcomm and the People's Government of Guizhou Province are in a joint venture, focused on the design and sales of server chipsets in China, the two said on Sunday. According to the two, the joint venture is worth approximately $280M, and will be 55 percent owned by the Guizhou provincial government, and 45 percent owned by a subsidiary of Qualcomm.

Internet Brands Acquires Demandforce

Los Angeles-based Internet Brands said Friday that it has acquired Demandforce , a developer of marketing software and services. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Irvine-based semiconductor developer RFaxis said this weekend that it has unveiled a new family of RF, front end integrated circuits aimed at the Internet-of-Things and machine to machine (M2M) market. According to RFaxis, it has rolled out its family of sub-miniature, GhZ RF front end chips for use in the 700/800/900MHz spectrum for high power Industrial, Scientific, Medical (ISM) frequency band applications.
