Coronal Energy Gets Funding From Panasonic

Pasadena-based Coronal Energy , a provider of solar photovoltaic (PV) project development, financing, and operation services for the utility, municipal and corporate market, has scored a strategic investment from Panasonic , the two said this morning. Financial terms of the funding were not disclosed. The two said that, as a result of the investment, Coronal will become Coronal Energy powered by Panasonic.

Hawthorne-based OSI Systems , the developer of X-ray and other screening equipment for the homeland security, defense, aerospace, and healthcare industries, has acquired American Science and Engineering, Inc. , in a deal worth $269M. OSI Systems said it paid $37.00 per share in cash and assumed unvested equity for American Science and Engineering. OSI said it gains additional, X-ray backscatter based inspection systems through the acquisition, which had been announced earlier.
