Atom Tickets Raises $50M For Mobile Ticketing Apps

Santa Monica-based Atom Tickets , the developer of a mobile app which lets users find and buy movie tickets for groups, has raised $50M in a funding round, the company disclosed over the weekend. The funding came from Lionsgate, which led the investment, along with The Walt Disney Company and Fox. Atom Tickets was founded by Ameesh Paleja, Matthew Bakal, and Geoff Schaevitz.

Size of the funding was not announced. 3BLACKDOT is the developer of mobile game Zombie Killer Squad, among other titles. The company is led by Angelo Pullen. The company's founders had previously been at Machinima. 3BLACKDOT is behind its own MCN, Jetpak.

According to Triton Digital, NPR will use its Tap Podcast solution for distribution and monetization of its content. Financial details of the win were not announced. Triton Digital's software adds dynamic -re-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll audio ads to podcasts.

Mattel Buys Nabi Maker Fuhu, Sproutling
