Wag! Names New CEO

Los Angeles-based Wag!, which offers up dog walking and boarding via its app, has named a new CEO, saying that it has appointed its current Vice President of Product, Partnerships, and Corporate Development at Wag Labs to its top post. According to Wag!, Garrett Smallwood will become CEO, and also join the company's board of directors. Prior CEO Hilary Schneider is leaving the company, to "pursue a new opportunity", according to the company. Wag! said the transition will happen on November 29th. SMallwood previously was co-founder and CEO of Finrise and Vetary.com, a provider of financing for pet health care; he also was VP of Operations at Pillow, and also served as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) at seed stage venture capital firm NFX. Smallwood has been at Wag! for three years, according to the company.
