Viasat Wins EL AL Israel Airlines

Carlsbad-based satellite communications provider Viasat has scored a win with EL AL Israel Airlines, and will power high-speed Internet on EL AL's widebody and narrowbody aircraft, according to the two companies. According to the companies, they have added EL AL's Boeing 777 widebody fleet to and existing agreement where Viasat is supplying its satellite communications systems on EL AL's Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Boeing 737-900 and part of Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Financial details on the win were not announced. EL AL said that it expects to have the majority of its fleet covered by high speed Internet by the end of 2020.
