Mitsubishi Electric U.S. Launches Local Space & Sensing Systems Division

Mitsubishi Electric US, the U.S. arm of industrial giant Mitsubishi Electric, said it has launched a new Space & Sensing Systems Division out of its Cypress, California headquarters. According to Mitsubishi Electric, the division will sell satellite on-board equipment, including solar array panels, lithium-ion batteries, and RF equipment. It also said it will sell its systems which use car-mounted GPS antennas, laser scanners and cameras to gather 3D positioning data for road assets, in order to support the autonomous driving market. The company did not say how many people will support the new effort and division in Cypress.
