Yet as we enter February 2017 the VC funding markets are booming, Snap, Inc has filed for its IPO, AppDynamics was just purchased for $3.7 billion by Cisco and the only winter that can be found is at the ski resorts following California’s epic snowy and rainy January.

Glaukos Sets New CFO

San Clemente-based ophthalmic technology developer Glaukos said this morning that it has named Joseph Gilliam as its next Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. Gilliam will replace current CFO Richard Harrison, who is retiring this year. Glaukos said that Gilliam will not join the company as CFO until May. Gilliam was most recently at J.P.

Social Reality Names New Board Member

Los Angeles-based Internet advertising technology developer Social Reality announced late Friday that it has named Derek J. Ferguson to its board of directors. Ferguson has previously served at Victory Park Capital Advisors LLC, Maxim Partners, J.P. Morgan Securities, Thoma Cressey Equity Partners and Wynnchurch Capital. The company said Ferguson has over 13 years as an investor in middle market companies.

VIZIO Pays $2.2M to Settle FTC Charges

Irvine-based Vizio , the manufacturer of televisions and other consumer electronics, has been ordered to pay $2.2 million to the FTC and the State of New Jersey, to settle charges that it has been collecting the viewing history of its customers without their consent. The charges had been filed by the Federal Trade Commission and the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General in 2015.
