Soylent Names Innovation VP

Los Angeles-based Soylent Nutrition, which develops drinks, powders, and other nutrition products intended to replace or supplement the need to eat meals, has named Julie Daoust as its new Vice President of Product Development and Innovation, the company said late Monday. Daoust was previously Senior Director of Research and Innovation at Vega, a nutrition brand owned by Danone. Daoust is a recently PhD (2013) in organic chemistry from the University of British Columbia in Canada, and also had worked at health supplement manufacturer Clef Des Champs. Soylent says its products provide all the the vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates and protein that the body needs in its ready-to-drink packages; the company also recently launched a new product, Soylent Bridge, which it says is an "in-between meal".
